- whether WordPlay members or not - to sell their book through our website, whilst keeping their details anonymous from the
buyer.
THE AUTHOR INCREASES MARKET PRESENCE AND SALES POTENTIAL, WHILST THE BOOK
BUYER RECEIVES A UNIQUE OBJECT
In essence it works like this:
Author sends book details to WordPlay. (book cover artwork/ a few sentences re book for front page/ back page
blurb) This is to include the sale price.
SALE PRICE: This is the price at which the author
wants to offer his book for sale + the cost of postage. For example, if the price you wish to offer your book for sale is
$10, and the cost of postage within the USA is $4, the sale price would be $14 for sales within the USA. The author should
provide a second price, for postage outside of his country of residence. In this way the author's book will be shown twice
on the WordPlay site, once for sale within his country of residence and once for external sale.
POSTAGE COSTS: it is best to factor in a registered post facility, so that delivery can be proved.
A buyer will order the book through the WordPlay website, paying the purchase
price, which will include a surcharge of around £1 to cover all administration by WordPlay.
WordPlay will, in turn, provide the buyer details to the author.
The author, SIGNS and dispatches a copy to the buyer.
WordPlay will pay
the author sale proceeds once per quarter, one month after quarter end (eg, all sales made during Jan/ Feb/ Mar will be paid
to the author at end April).
MARKETING
The Basic Package: (free to all authors)
WordPlay
will list all books available on its website in all its publications (currently the monthly ezine, quarterly fiction ezine,
annual anthology, and on its website).
This listing will be by genre, title, author, and
will include the sales pitch as per website.
Advanced Package 1:
For a fee of £25 (approx $37), authors can have the back page blurb of their book,
together with cover artwork, published in the monthly ezine for three consecutive months, and in one quarterly issue of "The
Story behind the Story". Listing in anthology as per basic package.
(THIS
OPTION IS FREE TO WORDPLAY MEMBERS)
Advanced Package 2:
For a fee of £50 (approx $75), authors
can have the back page blurb of their book, together with cover artwork, published in the monthly ezine for six consecutive
months, and in four quarterly issues of "The Story behind the Story". Listing in anthology as per basic package.
(THIS OPTION IS HALF PRICE TO WORDPLAY MEMBERS)
Advanced Package 3:
For a fee of £75 (approx $111), authors can have the back page blurb of
their book, together with cover artwork, published in the monthly ezine for 12 consecutive months, and in four quarterly issues
of "The Story behind the Story" a full page including Back page blurb, cover artwork and author bio. Listing
in anthology as per basic package.
